the rights you have as a data subject.
It applies to all Premeets services, of whatever nature (website, application, services). 4. What data do we collect?
4.1 - Data required to create an account
-
first name, email address, password (stored hashed, never in plain text);
-
date of birth (and therefore your age), gender, city;
-
username on the service;
-
technical account identifier, notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) and your device’s IP address.
Your IP address and device model are used to detect possible fraudulent logins, to enforce our terms of use (in particular excluding a user), to fix bugs specific to certain models and to optimise the service.
4.2 - Data required to use the service
-
the destinations and cities of your trips, and the outings and events you take part in;
-
your geolocation (the city you are in) - see the detail in 4.6;
-
the messages you exchange, your friends list and invitations;
-
your matching preferences (age range, gender, radius) - not visible to other users.
4.3 - Optional data
-
your surname, your profile picture(s), your bio;
-
your interests (passions / hobbies), your school and/or employer, your tags.
4.4 - Data visible to other users
-
your profile picture, your first name and username, your age, your city of residence;
-
the outings and events you take part in, the destinations of your trips;
-
the outing categories and trip vibes you have chosen, the type of trip;
-
your bio, your interests, your tags, your school and/or employer (if provided).
4.5 - Data collected automatically
-
Your activity - when you log in, your sign-up date, your settings (age range sought, filters, etc.).
-
Your interactions with the application - anonymous usage events (pages viewed, features used) in order to understand how you use Premeets and to improve it.
-
Your interactions with members - messages, friend requests (including declined ones), friends list: collected but never made public.
-
Technical data - IP address, device type and version.
-
Transactions - in the event of a purchase, your bank details are neither stored nor shared: they pass through the App Store or Google Play. We keep only what identifies the transaction (identifier, date) and the purchase history.
4.6 - Your location
Premeets uses your GPS coordinates in two ways, in the foreground only, never in the background:
-
To see users around you - access to your position is requested when you tap “See around me” and when you create your profile. You can refuse, but some features will then be unavailable. This data is kept until it is deleted, which you can request at any time.
-
To save a destination or an event - Premeets records the city and the date range (departure and return), that is, your location in the near future. This data is erased as soon as you delete the destination or event concerned.
5. On what legal bases?
In accordance with Article 6 of the GDPR, our processing relies on the following bases:
-
Performance of the contract - creating and managing your account, and providing the service (matching, messaging). This data is necessary: without it, the service cannot be delivered.
-
Legal obligation - managing and retaining invoicing and accounting records.
-
Consent - geolocation, push notifications, referrals and personalised communications. You may withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting performance of the contract.
-
Legitimate interest - securing the service, preventing fraud, moderation, and improving the application using anonymous internal statistics.
6. Who is your data shared with?
Your data may be passed on:
-
to authorised internal Premeets teams (support, moderation, security), within the limits of their duties;
-
to the technical providers (processors) listed below, under a confidentiality undertaking compliant with Article 28 of the GDPR;
-
to administrative or judicial authorities, where the law requires it.
Premeets never sells or rents your data to third parties.
Our processors and where your data is hosted
Your data is hosted and processed within the European Union, in Ireland (Dublin), on the infrastructure of our host Supabase (AWS data centres). For certain specific services, processors located outside the EU (in particular in the United States) may receive some data, solely for the purposes of their duties. These transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards: the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and, where applicable, certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
7. How long do we keep it?
We keep your data only for as long as necessary to provide the service, plus any retention periods imposed by law.
8. How is your data protected?
Premeets implements technical and organisational measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of your data:
-
TLS encryption of all communications;
-
hashed passwords (bcrypt, via Supabase Auth);
-
access partitioned at the level of each database row (Row Level Security) and column-level restrictions masking sensitive data (email, notification token, etc.);
-
data accessed through secure functions that systematically verify your identity;
-
an application restricted to those aged 18 and over (date of birth check, deletion of any detected minor accounts);
-
an obfuscated application binary.
In the event of a data breach likely to create a risk to your rights and freedoms, Premeets notifies the CNIL within the required time limits and informs you where the law requires it.
9. What are your rights?
You have the following rights over your data at any time:
-
Access - obtain a copy of the data concerning you;
-
Rectification - update or correct your data;
-
Erasure - request the deletion of your data;
-
Restriction - request the suspension of processing;
-
Objection - object to processing, in particular to receiving marketing communications;
-
Portability - retrieve your data in a reusable format.
You can correct your profile and delete your account directly in the application (Settings). To exercise your other rights, write to us at contact@premeets.com or by post to the registered office given in section 3. Every request must be accompanied by proof of identity; we respond within the legal time limits. If, after contacting us, you consider that your rights are not being respected, you may refer the matter to the CNIL (cnil.fr).
10. Data protection officer
The protection of your data is overseen by Guillaume Varlet. You can contact him at contact@premeets.com or by post: Premeets SAS, 7 Avenue des Pépinières, 49240 Avrillé, France.
